This little guy was used as a cat toy. His back legs don’t work. Thank heavens I have Baytril in suspension. Late last night when his finder brought him to me, he got a tiny bit—0.01 ml. (Little bit more than the WMB book said as he only weighs 22 grams) I would have asked for TSB approval before giving him anything but he was found almost 24 hours before his finder was able to bring him to me and he needed something NOW. He’s taken hydration and some formula—AND nibbled a grape in his bin. He’s alert and his teeth work just fine. Not being well versed in flyers, I can’t guess an age but he’s young. Both legs drag. Can I give the little guy prednisone? It’s been more than 48 hours since his injury. If so, doseing pleeeeeeze?

Are you positive of that weight? He looks a bit older than that weight suggests.

Gaaaaaaa! He weighs 43 grams this morning. He’s eaten and had formula so prrrrrrretty sure he was 42 last night rather than 22. I have 5 mg pred and 15 mg. I also have Gabapentin (thanks to TSB angels) and Meloxicam—in case either of those would be a better choice. Aaaaaand better up the dose of Baytril! Thanks guys. Little guy is so sad and scared.

I hate it when there’s no followup on these injured guys. Little flyer is better. He eats his blocks and some other goodies and is taking formula. I am tickled that one little leg is naturally coming under him in a normal position most of the time and the other little leg more and more often. He’s moving around on his own. Thanks Step for the doseing. I think the prednisone is helping. I really hope that this time next year he’s back with his colony.

I'm glad he's showing improvement. :grouphug
I've only ever had one (cat caught) Flyer myself that I got
through it's round of AB's and then handed off to a rehabber
that had a lot of experience with flyers and had others.
The little I had was basically unscathed by the cat so I (and it)
got lucky.
