I have a baby squirrel that I found 2 days ago. It's eyes are open and so I'm guessing 6 to 7 weeks old. It's mobile enough that it was chasing me on my mule. I've never raised a baby squirrel. It was dehydrated and cold. I used some pedialyte to rehydrate. And puppy replacer formula. The problem is, it's developed what I'm quite sure is aspiration pneumonia. I'm sure I need antibiotics but what is safe for a squirrel?

Call your female friends and see if you can get some Cipro. It is the go to drug for urinary tract infections which women tend to get much more frequently than men. You just need one pill - find out the size in milligrams.

Let us know what you find and we can tell you if it will work. We can dose it for you.
Time is critical so I would try to find something STAT.

We will also need a weight of the squirrel in grams to properly dose the antibiotics.
If you can't find Cipro, you can also use Clavamox, or Augmentin.
Here is a guide to baby squirrels. It's 6 pages long, with the next button

What size syringe are you using, and what formula are you feeding?
