Is there much difference in the Henrys Blocks?
Currently I'm feeding the high protein.
What is the difference between the adult formula, wild bites, picky eaters?
I would assume that it is exactly what it states....
If releasing in the spring, should I feed the wild bites (maybe not now but later)
Which one is the best to feed?

Also, it says to feed 3 a day. can they eat more than 3? Shes not really eating many veggies but loves her formula still (shes 9 weeks old)

Do not exceed three as they are packed with vitamins. It would essentially be like us taking too many multivitamins.

Yep, just saw that on another thread.
Thank you.

Maybe I can get her to eat some Harland or Oxbow......

Forgive my not answering your other question, but I do not know the answer either. I feed the standard adult one and have had no issue with my picky guy chowing down.

I have one I can’t recall the name of. It’s at home and I’m not sorry. I got it pretty cheap in a 10lb bag on Amazon. He doesn’t like it nearly as well but will sometimes nibble on one after his HHB and between me giving more fruit or veggies.

The HHBs contain the nutrients as labeled. The difference is the extra protein for the young ones and the picky formula has extra pecans in it. The wild bites contain peanuts and the others don’t.

My guys have never been overly thrilled with the hi protein ones so I just buy the picky ones and they seem to like them. I buy the wild bites for my yard squirrels. I usually hand them out to pregnant or nursing mommas and squirrels that look a little rugged so they can have some extra nutrition.

I buy the Harlan Teklad 2018 in 5lb or 10lb bags and start all my releasable squirrels on them. If you start them on Henry’s they may not eat the other blocks because they don’t taste as good. I grind the Harlan block and use it to make boo balls and all of them eat them.....even the wilds. :grin2

When you grind it, what do you add to it? I know theres a few different recipes floating around but trying to do a search brings up so many threads that has no actual recipes.

Harlan block is much more economical to use since I feed the boo balls to my rehab squirrels and my wild ones.

I grind the block with my ninja till it’s a powder. I then grind about 1/4 to 1/2 as many nuts (pecans, almonds and hazelnuts). Once this is mixed together then I add some powdered Fox Valley 20/50 formula and some Ultraboost. I then add enough veggie/fruit combo baby foods and some oil (pumpkin, chia and/or coconut) so that the mixture will stick together and roll into small balls. Refrigerate and feed. You can also add extra calcium in place or in addition to the formula. I always vary the baby food flavors and try to find ones that are on the healthy veggie list.

That's how I made mine last night (just winged it) about 5 cups muzuri block I processed to a powder, about 1 cup almonds I processed, about 1/2 cup coconut oil and decided into 4 containers. One I mixed in squash and sweet potato, one apple and brocolli, one banana blueberry and one banana pumpkin. So far I have only given the squash and sweet pea and she enjoys it.

How many a day can I feed? I make them into pieces about 1/2 the size or so as a HHB

Also, should I bake these? The few that I had rolled out after refrigerating, I baked at 325 for about 10 minutes, turning, til they got "crunchy" on the outside.

They smell pretty bad (like that sickly sweet baby food smell mixed with rodent block.) lol

I rolled them in little balls, then formed them in like cylinder-like pieces (flat on top and bottom, rounded around the center) and baked to harden them up so they weren't so squishy.

I only baked off about 10 of each at a time and threw them in the freezer.

I kept grabbing the spinich baby food blends but kept remembering spinach is on the NO NO list....

Can anyone tell me how many of these homemade blocks I can feed in a day given the ingredients?
I think shes enjoying these so much shes not really taking to the formula anymore...... (used to suck on the syringe, now just lightly laps at the tip for a few seconds and runs off. Yesterday she was all about the formula. 4-5 of these (2 yesterday and 2-3 today) and shes not having it.
