Hi all, so no matter what I do, I can’t seem to get rid of the chunks. It is the formula recommended here. Any advice would be great. He is a stubborn and spoiled boy💜🐿

I have had good results by adding half the total amount of water and mixing it up really well, then adding the remainder and mixing again. I use a little whisk for mixing. Be sure your water is very hot, but not boiling.

Use very warm water
I first mix with a fork
Then I vigorously shake.
Then refrigorate.
warm up and use the next day

Esbilac can go bad - while still in the powder form. It is always hard to know what conditions products are kept in before they get to you. Certainly, you should store any formula powder in the freezer - it won't make it any harder to mix.
If you have chunks and such, I would be concerned that the formula has gone bad.

I have thought that, I did taste it and tasted good to me. He is very picky about texture. I am exchanging it today just in case. I have been doing all of the above and even strained. Still to chunky for my boy. He will eat however if mixed with yogurt as it seems to smooth it out. However he is on AB and the feeding immediately prior or right after I have to give him plain formula as to not interfere with AB. He really likes his milk thicker. Can I add something else for those feedings? Also thought about running it through my ninja (then storing it overnight). Ideas?
Another question. He has not had anything else yet. He is about 6 weeks. Rodent block right? Which brand? Also he would like to chew but i want to make sure to get him a safe chew stick or whatever is advised.
Thank you for your guidance. He is my first baby squirrel. He also has some other problems at the moment ( large abscess and hind legs paralyzed) .
I LOVE TSB!!!!! 💜💜🐿🌈

CM is right, if it remains chunky after stiring and shaking then something is wrong with it. You should continue to offer him formula for as long as he will take it, let him self wean off it himself. You could add a little cream but not too much as it is rich and could cause diarrhea, you really should not need to do this.
You can start to add small chunks of rodent block in his cage but he is probably a little to young to really eat much. However, he might start chewing them up ang as he get older he will start to eat more of them.

I am having the same issue with powder esbilac. Angel wouldnt eat it. I've called petag and am waiting for call back since it was after hrs. I've switched back to pre made... I know pre made is not recommended but Angel eats it and seems to be on track with growth and development for a 7-8 wk old.

PLEASE DO NOT USE CANNED ESBILAC. That is a horrible formula and will cause serious harm to any squirrel.
I am not overly fond of powdered Esbilac because of the grit. I use GMF till they are 3.5-4 wks old and then transition them to FV 20/50. It does not have the grit issue.

UPDATE ON FORMULA
I returned the formula and went to a different pet store to purchase a can with different lot number.
I mixed it with hot filtered water in a mason jar. I shook it like crazy....and then shook it some more.
Refrigerated...shook
PERFECT- not one chunk or grit.

Great! It sounds like the batch you originally had was bad in some way.

I had a bad bag of FV 20/50 last week myself. Nothing I could do to fully dissolve it. Still had some grit. I tried another bag and it was just fine.

I find that in order to eliminate the clumps and grit in Esbilac is to mix the powder with only hlaf the water first - hot water that is - then stir really well (I use a small egg beater), and it will become all nice and creamy. Then, at last, I add the other half of the hot water. Of course I also let it sit in the ridge for 3 hours.
