Coast and Canyon Wildlife Rescue is in the Los Angeles area (Malibu).

Releasing is a process. When they reach an appropriate age they are transitioned to an outside release cage. They stay in the release cage until release. That can be anywhere from a week to several weeks. When released some will hang around the release area. We always feed them for a while after release until they are fully transitioned. Others leave right away.

That was the case it seemed any time I tried to reach one in the past as well and why I chose to raise my Nibbles myself. And now I’m excited to raise even more. You sure you don’t want info on how to do it yourself? ;). There’s a wealth of knowledge and experience on this board to guide you if so.

We have a release cage you can borrow if that is all you need; it is modular so it can be easily transported; we can even deliver it.
We would need it returned though when the release is fully accomplished, which then we would pick it up.

No, I’m about as far away as anyone. I’m in Florida or I’d gladly take them.

Hi, checking back to see if you released the squirrels; with this area is now burned out at least in part, perhaps the powers that be may now agree to release them elsewhere. Send me a PM if you get this message please. DF
