I have an adult HBC squirrel, he is using his back legs but not his fronts. I have dosing for Pred, but the Pred I have is in pill form. The Dex is injectible and I think this would be a better method of dosing an adult wild squirrel.

Does anyone know the dosing information and the protocol for Dex?

Thanks,

I can help you with dosing. I can dose either the pred or Dex? You can give the injectable Dex either by IM injection or orally. Need the weight of the little one and strength of the meds?

Sorry Tube, he died :( :( .

But I would like to know the protocol for Dex if you can share. I know how to dose, but I wasn't sure if you use Dex the same was as Pred. When I give Pred, I do it 2x a day, then 1x a day and then 1/2 does a day, etc... Wasn't sure if I'm supposed to do the same with Dex or not. The strength is 4mg/ml. I see in WMB the strength is 2mg/ml, so not sure how to dilute an injectible :) . Also, I just read in WMB that some data suggests that the use of Dex in head injuries in not helpful and may even be harmful. So maybe I shouldn't use it? Thoughts?
