Can Cefdinir be used for aspiration pneumonia? There’s a baby in Virginia and that’s what the finder has. She’s looking for Cipro. I’ll tell her to get on TSB ASAP.

It would not be my first or second choice but I believe it would work for AP. I will have to check my manuals when I get home tonight for dosing info.

I cannot locate it in Plumb's (6th Edition) either FWIW.

uh-oh! I do have a newer addition (9th?) so hopefully they added it? I saw it listed online as a treatment for community -acquired pneumonia so it would may well work with AP?

Thanks guys. This is a first squirrel rescued because a cat was after it. Rehabbers are turning babies away and a vet told her to put it out FOR THE CAT!!!! :shakehead
Girl has done a great job but had to go out of town and her dad was taking care of her baby. Baby was lethargic this morning. Seems better this afternoon thank heavens. I would like to know about Cefdinir as any drug that treats AP is a good one to know.
