A neighbor brought over two squirrels that her dogs got. About 5 weeks old, one's eyes aren't open. Not cold, not dehydrated but one has a cut on his rump with blood. The other one keeps sneezing and dripping blood from his nose. I fear internal injuries on the second one. Neither one will eat or drink.
I am keeping warm and trying not to disturb but have gone in every couple hours to see if they will eat.
I guess i am just posting so they get some good positive love thoughts. Or any advice on encouraging eating.
Thanks, you guys are the best.

Poor babies. Dogs do a lot of damage to babies as they usually shake them.
You're right that internal injuries are likely. Treat for shock... warm, dark and quiet.
Hopefully they will take hydration fluid when they settle down. So, so sad.

I know a former member with a vet-rehabber near Chicago. If you are willing to drive about an hour to drop the babies off, pm me

55 minutes from downtown. Dr Jenice Bell and staff run a hospital and also are a licensed rehab facility.

What’s the status of these babies? I think a vet is in order, if they are still alive. As chickenlegs said there is a vet/rehabber about an hour from you. Please contact chickenlegs or myself and we can get you help for your babies.

I did, but I have a rehabber about as close that I can turn them over to.
Thank you, yes they are still alive.

Thank you for letting us know. When is the rehabber able to take them?

Just wanted to let you know that these little guys have finally taken in about 3mils of food (after rehydration) and both have pooped and peed :)
Thank you for all of you that were concerned :)
Still not fully recovered but oh what a relief to see them eating.

Glad to hear that they are better. Actually a bloody nose is pretty common for baby squirrels. They have that big punkin head and tiny body so when they fall it's often a face plant on the ground. Later on you'll have to be alert to the condition of the teeth. Sometimes face plants can damage the teeth and they get a permanent malocclusion. Teeth trimmings will sometimes correct it. It's nothing to be concerned about now but just be aware of the possibility. Hopefully, it won't happen.
