I have a baby about three-four weeks. Was doing great until today. She hasn’t ate and I just heard the clicking. I have no access to the antibiotic tonight. Is there anything else I can do? Would a human antibiotic work? How would I dose? Someone please help.

What human antibiotics do you have?

I have amoxicillin. My son just getting over strep.

I also have tablet doxycycline 100 mg for my dog we just rescued.

It has not expired, has it? What is the weight of your baby? Do you by chance have any Baytril (animal)/Ciproflaxin (human) or Clavamox (animal)/Augmentin (human)?

My baby only 1.5 oz. the doxy is brand new but a pill form. I can crush but how much do I give

Great, I’ll watch for it now. Another question is I know she is hungry! When should I try to feed her again? Just water? Or the formula?

Feed her formula on her regular schedule.

She won’t eat it right now. I’ll try again in an hour.

Not wanting to eat and sleeping are symptoms of AP. Start her on the antibiotic.

I did. As soon as you sent the dosing I was on it. :) I hope she makes it. I can’t believe how quick this happen. She lost so much weight in 1 day! :(:(:(

Continue to offer her the food, hopefully her appetite will pick up.
