There is a squirrel that hangs out in the back of my home. There seems to be something wrong with his back foot. He cannot climb or run. He seems to be pretty small, and based on what I observed when I put some food out is starving. What can I do to help?

A squirrel on the ground is just predator food, it won't survive.
First thing would be to capture and then evaluate his condition for treatment.
Can you take and post a picture to get a guess on age?

How close are you to Seattle Washington? Do you know of a squirrel-friendly rehabber or vet? Can you describe the nature of the injured foot (e.g. dragging behind vs. not stepping right vs. a visible wound, etc.)? Can you get a picture or video of this squirrel so that we can determine age and extent of injury?

Get a Hava-heart trap and trap him ASAP. Then people here can help you evaluate and you can get some food and water in him and protect him for the time being.
