I have a 2 week old squirrel (unsure what kind yet), that fell out of tree and mom never came back. I have been feeding it with an Insulin syringe and all was well until this morning. Lethargic, clicking, opened mouth breathing, loss of appetite. I fear he has aspirated. Is there any human medicine that I can use? My sister is a Nurse Practitioner and can call me in something for it. Vet is closed. I'm worried! Help!

If you can get the human drug Cipro (best) or Augmentin (good), both are great for AP. But time is critical, AP can take these little ones down extremely quickly.
Please tell share with us what medication you are able to get, the strength and (very important!) how much teh squirrel weighs!

I saw that you are a junior member and just wanted to quickly share a helpful website (don't miss the next button in the upper right like many people do): https://www.henryspets.com/baby-squirrel-care/
Good luck with everything! I hope the aspiration gets better. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

How’s your little one doing? Did you get the meds?
