Just came in a cold dehydrated infant (fall from a tree) with a purplish discoloration on head and minor contusions on side and under eye. Very slight discharge of blood tinged fluid from the nose. Baby is active and moving. Weight is approx 15 Grams (manual scale). Warmed, re-hydrated, and fed Esb.
Any thoughts on additional treatment due to fall and injuries?

SS, less is more when it comes to these black & blue pinks. Hopefully no seizures or neuro behavior will result from the bruises. Just hydrate like crazy, feed nice & warm, and pray. :)

Here are more detailed photos. Her left eye area is swollen and there is bite below her right eye, entire head is swollen. Not sure how this one will do. Taking formula and maintaining temperature.

I've seen worse survive (my Owena), and have lost those who looked better than yours. We can only hope and care for them the best we can.

Thanks IR, I wish she was older to administer Meloxicam.

Positive side is she’s maintaining her body temp. Hmmmmmm—Bet Nancy, Gayle or Betsy can recommend something for her—tho Betsy is way busy with her own pinks.

Amen to that. She’s gotta chance and these little guys will run with a chance as long and hard as they can :Love_Icon

I just got done raising a little one that came in looking very similar. A warm bed, good food, a meticulous schedule and lots of love is all she needed. She was 12 grams on arrival and she's in the release cage at this very moment.
If the bite is from an ant, you will need Clavamox, but unless you're sure or the bite shows necrosis I would not jump to Clavamox right now.

Thanks all! I think the bite is squirrel, not a cat or larger predator based on the shape of the wounds. Does not look necrotic and no sign of ant bites. She is a lot better than when I received her from the finder. She is going to start learning to get her rehab license!

Could use more good rehabbers—the kind with a heart!
