I had released all 4 of my babies, actually they were my winterized babies 1 month ago. Everyone had found their ways except BB.King He had big testicles thus the name.Anyway,he comes home everyday, and sleeps in my kitchen every night. He makes a nest using bounties climbs up my counters and goes to sleep. I of course feed him dinner,so he has a full belly and make sure he drinks, because I cant just hard release him. My question is can I give him around 8-10 almonds per day being he is out eating all day? Or do I still have to keep him on his pyramid foods? which I tried yet he refuses..

You can certainly give him some almonds but 8-10/day might be a bit excessive? Give him some but you also want to encorage him to eat natural foods out there. I feed my releases booballs that are 50/50 ground block and almond mix (apple sauce to hold together). That way they get vitamins and nutrients. At some point, they stop eating them and eat an all natural diet (except for some almond treats).

Honestly, I would go out and get as many wild foods as you can and feed him those in addition to HHB's and a few almonds, maybe. He needs to understand the transition process a bit more clearly :grin2. A steady supply of nuts will ensure that he NEVER leaves home and, in fact, you may end up with a problem where he believes the entire home is his nest box and he defends it against all comers. (We have had many threads here about squirrels who attack everyone going in and OUT of a house, post-release!) Whatever you can find: maple helicopters, rose of sharon buds which they love, wild blackberries....bring 'em in.

I had a baby that did this. After she was released she returned every night. She would pace at the sliding glass door until I let her in. She'd come in and curl up in my shirt and go go sleep. I'd let her sleep for a while then I'd take her out and put her in the RC. I never fed her inside once she was outside though. She did this for a good while before she eventually started returning less and less.
