Hera came to us just under a week ago. She was found chewing on a sprite can. We warmed her up, hydrated her and started her on fv 32/40. She also gets rodent blocks, fruits and veggies. She seemed fine if alittle food agressive. Today she had a siezure. She was crying and when i ran to my office, her front legs were still to her body but her back legs were spayed. On the advice of a trusted rehabber I have her molasses. Shes really lethergic and falls over. I moved the nest box to the bottom of the cage. Just to be safe I crushed up a tums and managed to get her to drink it. She comes out and I try and give her a bit more formula. Shes not interested but I do get alittle in her. Her breathing is rapid but always has been, at least compared to her sister. She perks up but then gets very tired.
Im sitting up with her tonight so ill be on for a while. Any tips or tricks to deal with post seizures?
p.s. no clicking in the breathing. I have had two other people confirm this.301585

Is it possible she had head trauma?

She never ran around the cage like her sister does or climbs just for fun. Its possible. I know the nest they came from was pretty high up.

If she seems different, that is a good possibility. Be sure everything is well padded for her. Do you have vet access?

Xena is acting sad. Do squirrels mourn? She let me pet her longer then normal. She isnt acting like herself. None of the symptoms hera had , shes just sitting on a branch with her tail over her.

Yes, I do believe they mourn. They like having a buddy.

I believe they can mourn, but what is in the cage? Lets be sure th er e isnt something that could make them sick. What kind of branch and where is it from?

Its from a tree out back. Im not sure which one. My husband cut it for them. When he gets home I will find out.
Stuffed animals, a milk jug they sleep in(its easy to clean and they dont chew it)branches for climbing, chewing, glass water/food dishes. Towels for bedding.

The branches are from a maple tree that was cut down.
