Are wild blackberries okay?

I've given the store bought ones to overwinters. They had no trouble. May be stick the in the fridge to kill any buggies?

I have too. I just wanted to make sure these weren’t something different. Was going to give one to the wild boys.

we love them here, and so do any squirrels that happen to be passing through. Warning: they stain like heck and it's permanent. This is what the Native Americans used to make dark blue or black dye. :grin3

I learned this all too well when Vin and Charlie were young and I gave them their first one. I came home that night and thought there was "blood" all over one of the wooden shelves!! I about had a heart attack until I realized what it was. Unfortunately, I'd already snatched him both out of the cage looking for injuries.:embar
I just wasn't sure if what was growing in my yard was the same thing and wanted to err on the side of caution. Now I have an issue with CATS in my yard. That's a problem I will be dealing with in the coming days. I didn't get my boys this far to have a cat take them out as they exit the release portal!
These people up the street live in the biggest, most beautiful house and they're pretty nice and then they got a friggin' cat called Callie and Callie is so nice, would come in and make herself at home if you let her but her owners just let her roam the neighborhood until dark every day.
I've never seen her stalking or anything and it made me feel sort of bad but I bought a squirt gun to keep on the decks and she gets a squirt in the butt if she comes in the yard. It only happened once and I felt guilty because she ran away and ran back and wanted me to pet her.
Sheesh
But she hasn't been in the yard since that day so may be a squirt gun would help.

Not with this one unfortunately. I’ve already stopped it from attacking a squirrel across the street one morning while I was waiting in the front yard on the school bus with my kids. You should have seen me. I was running late and my hair was wet, I decided for some stupid reason to let my yorkie Millie stand outside with me so she’s in my arms. I’m barefoot. Right as the bus pulls up I notice this stupid cat couched down. I immediately see its target is this one lone squirrel right as it starts to pounce. I start screaming and clapping my hands all while Millie is in my arms. The squirrel jumps from the ground and richot’s off the side of the house cause it has no where to go. It’s cornerd. All my commotion makes the cat pause just long enough for the poor squirrel to jump onto the privacy fence and get away. The cat hauls but off the other direction. The bus driver was hysterically laughing at me!
It’s also the same cat I saw with a bird in its mouth and tried to chase. It was too fast and I knew the poor bird was already dead at that point. I really dislike him, but I’ve NEVER seen him back behind the houses until now. I know he’s stalking them now though. He’s not a tame cat so this is probably something he does very regularly. :tap
I’m getting a trap and he’s gone. I won’t risk my boys.
I would. I don't hate any animals, but stray cats are a nuisance and it's what animal control would do if you called them, so just do it yourself and drive him/her to the shelter. I always think the people who let their cats out understand they may get hit by a car or killed by a dog. At least they can call the shelter if it goes missing. You're not killing it.
