Tail fur thinning?

Not sure if this is normal or not? I figured the fur would grow back by now, but it doesn't seem to be. Has anyone had this happen? Is it normal? Any suggestions?

Molt sometimes progresses in weird ways.....I have seen this before, especially in recently released or wild squirrels. It may very well clear up but it takes quite a long time for all the tail fur to fill in.

So it is normal? Is it a bad sign of anything? It just started i'd say less than a month ago. Do I just leave it to heal?
