Hey there. I found a baby squirrel last night, Friday April 6th. I am worried he has pneumonia and needs medicine and medical attention. I am not exactly sure of the weight or the breed of squirrel. Its eyes are open though, it also has fur, but is still quite small. I have been feeding it alternatively, Pedialyte and, epsilac goat's milk puppy formula with heavy cream for the last 24 hours. When I found him he had a small clicking noise when he breathed but it wasn't continuous. It has gotten slightly more prominent over the last 12 hours. I am worried my inexperience was feeding him in the beginning might have worsened his condition. Any advice on where I might be able to find Rehabilitation and medication for this adorable baby would be much appreciated!
Hi there and thanks for helping him.
Here's a very helpful link for starters: https://www.henryspets.com/baby-squirrel-care/
Read through all the pages.
You want to use a syringe with nipple for feeding, 1 or 3 ml Larger syringes or pet nurser bottles increase aspiration risk.
In order to give you antibiotic instructions we need a weight in grams on him. A kitchen scale works great.
He should be on Powdered Puppy Esbilac (not goat's milk esbilac) but you can get that for him tomorrow.
In the mean time, try to post a photo of him so we can gauge his general size.
The antibiotics needed would be one pill of augmenten/clavamox, ciprofloxicin/baytril (human/animal). We can help you break this down and dose him.
Would you like a rehabber near you to take this little guy?

I would love to be able to keep for and care for this precious baby myself but I'm worried I lack the resources necessary. If someone else can keep and care for hymns for any amount of time that would be helpful. Where is the closest rehabber to me? I am in Western North Carolina, Franklin.

I have sent this user an e-mail asking them to come back that we are trying to help... and check her PM's for GH contact info.
I do not see where she has return to TSB since her last post of last night.
