I rescued a baby squirrel that had fallen from a ceiling in a softball academy and I have had him two weeks now and he has been doing fine but today I’m a little worried .... he has been eating good but this evening he wasn’t really into it like normally . He’s been making like a whining sound almost like a puppy or something and I can tell he doesn’t feel good . What do I do ? He’s been using the bathroom pretty regular . Any kind of advice would be great !

What kind of formula are you feeding?
What size syringe are you using?
What is his weight and how much are you feeding, and how often?
Can you post a picture?
Has he aspirated?
How old is he now?
Do you have any antibiotics, like Clavamox Augmentin, Baytril or Cipro?
Sorry for so many questions, but it will help us determine
what the problem might be.
Here's a great link on basic baby squirrel care.
It's 6 short pages long with the next button at the top right hand corner.

I'm moving your post to the emergency section, and sending you
a pm with the link to your thread.

For anyone reading, I just sent this member an email,
with a link to this thread,
asking them to come back to the board.
We are trying to help them.

Thanks Nancy -- I am concerned that this is yet another case of aspriration pneumonia with an inexperienced rescuer, and the baby needs to be on antibiotics ASAP. :(

If this person does come back and the baby needs antibiotics, I have clavamox and live 2 hours from them. Please let me know if I can help. Hopefully he is okay. :Love_Icon
