When a female is in estrus, is the swelling obvious like a female dog? Do most pet squirrels go in heat? I've read that pet squirrels rarely get pregnant so I was curious about it. She loves both my husband and I (so far lol) but I have noticed she will sort of rub herself down my husband's arm lately and she doesn't do that to me. Is she trying to take my man from me? 😂 She might look a tiny bit swollen but I haven't checked her out on the regular so I'm not sure. Thanks!

How old is she? She may be marking territory. My housemate is so over my rehabs and so when I see my release wiping her vag over his deck chair, I chuckle every time. :grin3

That's hilarious!! 😂 She turned 13 months on the 12th. I am anxiously waiting for her to take a chunk out of one of us. Perhaps we'll get lucky and she won't turn into a devil rat for long!

Sounds like you little girl is all grown up now! My Kami and others never became terrors during or after first Estrus. All squirrels are different in regards to personalities and how they behave at that time. You want to talk about a terror, my UN-neutered male Prairie Dog has an annual Rut that makes an Eastern Gray seem like a Buddhist Monk!

That's great to hear (except for your prairie dog lol). I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I do think she's in love with my husband though! 😂 He works shifts so when he's sleeping during the day she will lay on our curtain rod (where she decided to build her nest) and watch him for HOURS! If she's extra sleepy and I try to wake her up to eat she complains, but if my husband (her boyfriend apparently) even walks in the room, she's like, "heeeey baby!" 😂 As long as I'm still getting snuggles from both of them it's all good lol
