I currently have a 2 year old Eastern Grey. Recently he has began to bite at his scrotum causing a small hole in his scrotum. I have visually inspected the area but don't notice any sort of issue, but by doing so he is injuring himself. I treated with Neosporin, tried to keep the area clean as possible but it doesn't seem to help. He is sensitive to the touch and from one that is usually playful to one the doesn't want to be touched. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a vet that will see him?

In the picture it appears as if the underside of his legs are bald and unfurred.... is that correct or an optical illusion?

You are in Ormond Bch just down the road from the BEST Squirrel Vet in the USA in Port Orange. Get him in there quick
before an infection sets in. She will probably neuter him and he will also be calmer if she does.

Yes, Dr. Emerson has neutered and spayed many squirrels. I hope you will call her. That doesn’t look good. Please keep us updated.

His scrotum is obviously necrotic leaning toward sepsis, sepsis is a life threatening response to infection.
He definitely needs veterinary intervention!

I have been watching this thread and no sign the OP has checked back in. Like S-N-S said this is serious. Can an Admin Email him Dr E's info and a strong suggestion to pay her a visit?

Thanks

Thank you to everyone for the great outpouring and advice. He was rushed in yesterday morning. Special thanks to Ravenwood animal hospital for getting us in last minute. He was neutered due to the infection. My apologies for not updating sooner as we didn't get home until late last night. Thank you again for the concern, the help, and the follow up from everyone.
