Your little one may regaine some use of her legs or not. A paralyzed squirrel can live a wonderful life but you have to keep on top of the MBD. The lack of calcium has damaged bones and tissue. It will take months and months to repair and there may be a time that no more repair can take place. Even if she progresses no further KEEP UP THE HEALTHY DIET! There is a section in “special needs” that covers some of the issues of paralyzed squirrels—safe cageing, drag sores, urine scald—among others. Might want to start reading others experiences with their paralyzed squirrels and express your specific questions there. My boy Scooter was injured as a baby. He is a very happy boy—he scoots, climbs and jumps. Aaaaaaand he’s paralyzed. Please PM me or anybody else on TSB with a paralyzed squirrel. We want your baby to have a great life.
