Ok I’m really worried. I took little bit to the vet cause she wasn’t walking and when we got there everything was fine. She was sitting up hissing and fighting with the vet. Calcium levels and everything was normal. Yesterday she slept all day. She only ate what I hand fed her and that was very little. This morning it looks like she has aspirated all over the bottom of her cage. Can’t get her to eat or drink. I can post a picture of what the aspirations look like if someone will tell me how

I assume your meaning regurgitated or vomited, what was it that you had hand fed her last?

She had some HHB mixed with sweet potato baby food because she has no upper teeth. I’ve just rushed her to the vet again. Took ex rays and want to think it’s a heart issue. Said her heart was a little larger than he liked on the ex ray.

He is still checking to make sure this is the case

Putting her on heart meds. Need to do ultrasound. Have to bring her back once he finds someone who can.

I hope your sweetie is doing better. I’m curious. Has she always had no upper teeth. My girl Missy has none. It’s a congenital defect for Missy. She also has one eye smaller than the other. That one is blind. And there’s a kink at the end of her tail. Just wondering if your little girl has similar congenital issues in which case it’s something for others to watch out for. Missy has no heart issues I’m aware of.

When her teeth came in they were deformed. Her bottom teeth are stunted but there. We tried to keep from having the top ones removed but the vet said it would be best. They were twisted and curling. Other than that and now this she’s never been sick. She’s on .3mg RR Pimobedan 2x per day till we get an ultrasound.

Could the new meds have made her sick?

No. She just got these today. I thought her problem wasMBD. Thank god it wasn’t but this heart issue isn’t much better. 😢

Just curious is this vet an exotics vet? Does she see a lot of squirrels?
A few years back, I had a friend that took her squirrel to an exotics vet,
due to recurring UTI's. He did a full exam.
She got the same diagnosis that the heart looked a little enlarged.
My friend was devastated, but quickly asked, "What makes you say that?"
He thought it looked a little on the large size for a squirrel, though he
had never seen a squirrel's heart. :tap
NOT saying this is the case with your squirrel, just relaying a story.
Her squirrel, Chancie lived for close to 14 years without any heart issues.

Yes he is an exotics vet and sees several different squirrels. All of her blood work was normal and no infection present. She is dragging her back left leg again so the only thing he could determine was possible heart issue. We will no more once we get the ultrasound. He has the machine it’s just getting someone versed in squirrel cardiology to do it.
