Though I have geneally gone by the old axiom, "When in doubt, throw it out!", when it comes to foods, in reading through this reference I realize that what we can't see, perhaps from not looking closely, or knowing what to look for, can be present and so present a serious risk to our health if it is consumed. That expiration dates aren't just there to get consumers to buy more of the same product, even so most of them will be past before the product becomes degraded, should not be ignored. I intend to print out key portions of this collection of important information on when to dispose of sources that have to me in the past been disregarded.
