This study investigated the damage Turlarema causes in E. and W. Gray squirrels. Among the effects of this disesase was found to have on these squirrels included severe (CaOx) Calcium oxalate Kidney stone formation, severe to moderate inflammation and damage to the liver and the spleen, and severe pulmunary damage. (See Table 1)

Thanks goodness it's rare in humans (about 100 cases annually)! None in the areas/states my squirrels are from.

I always look at my Prairie Dog with suspicion and tell him he's going back to Lubbock where he came from!
