Non Functional Ears?

I just noticed my little Buddi (Achondroplastic Dwarf) has non functional ears! If you look at the attached photos her actual ear openings on both sides is well below the external ears. Normally there is a loop and a flap but it's absent in her. Her hearing seems unaffected as she comes out for food when I call her.

Has anyone ever seen this in a squirrel?

I know two little squirrels born with no ears at all. One was completely deaf and the other seemed to have some hearing even though she had no obvious ear canals. Nature is more amazing than we can even imagine, Buddi is SUCH a precious little darling. :Love_Icon
