Hello everyone. I've been following the board for a while now, but this is my first attempt to post.
My name is Pamellia and I have a baby squirrel that has mange. I need Ivermectin but I don't have any and can't seem to find a store that sells it.
I live in Mississauga Ontario Canada.
Does anyone have some, or have a source that I can purchase some from??
Thanks so much.

Go to a TRACTOR SUPPLY STORE and see if they have the injectable. (1%)

You will need an accurate weight on the squirrel to properly dose.
This by far is much safer than the ivermectin paste. (1.87%)
I posted photos below, but you may have different brands.
After you get it, let us know what the weight is and we'll give you
the dilution, and the dose.
This is an inside squirrel, correct?
IF you can't find the injectable, you can get the horse paste.

I'm so sorry Nancy, I am a complete newbie. This little girl is a backyard squirrel who lives on my patio. I can hand feed her, but an injection would be out of the question.

Oh, sorry. (I know it's confusing. We don't inject it when using on a squirrel.)
We don't inject this. We can dilute it and put it on a nut and she will eat it.
OR you could apply topically to the back of her neck. Though I don't think that would be an option since she's wild.
Since she's an outside squirrel, and you can't handle her, you could get the paste.
You have to be extremely careful when dosing that, again it would be on an unshelled nut,
but the amount is SO tiny. An overdose could kill her.
We will help you and explain more, after you get the ivermectin.
IF you can't find it, we have an excellent rehabber in your area of Mississauga,
that may have some. :w00t
I hope your squirrel looks and feels better soon....

Oh, got it. I saw a small pinhead amount on a toothpick of the paste as a recommended dosage. Not exactly an accurate way to measure, but I don't know how I can weigh her to be more exact.
I've been calling vets and feed stores all day and haven't had any luck finding a supplier. I can order the paste online from Amazon, but it won't arrive until after Christmas and I'm afraid that may be too late.

I'm going to send you a pm with a rehabber's contact name and number in your area.
She may have some that you can use, OR she may be able to tell you
where you can get it.

Never a problem. Please keep us posted if you're able to find the ivermectin.
