Dear folks,
Our released squirrel has been stopping back by the house with a friend in tow. A few days ago his friend looked as though his back had been chewed on. Anyway the fur has marks and was ruffled up. Looks about the same today. I can't get closer than about eight feet so I'm not real sure, but my wife and I are wondering if it's ruffled up from an animal or if something else might be happening. Thanks so much, Gary

Is there any chance that you could get a photo?
Get the camera ready and when the friend comes back,
you'll be all set.

It's hard to say Gary. It definitely could be an animal attack. It might also be a hawk attack but that wouldn't look like it was "chewed on". Do the wounds look like talon punctures or slices?

Yes, I'll see if I can get a picture. The fur looks really ruffled in a bunch of places on his back. He sure gets around good, but I wondered if it was from another animal or maybe some kind of ailment. My wife wondered if they might sleep in such a way that it looked all roughed up, as I might some mornings. It's been that way for several days now. Thanks for the concern. Gary

Get Arnica Montana 30X from "Standard Homeopathic" Made in the USA. Dissolve 1 tablet in about 1 Tbsp. of filtered water, and dip 1/2 walnut, or pecan into the water and leave for squirrel when you can see it is close by.
