This is a whole new adventure...trying to learn about these reclusive, picky eating little furry creatures, but enjoying the process :). So we are estimating they are going ( 2-3 mos?) and the little boogers are quite restless at night. I've enriched their tub as much as possible ( a junior cube, branches , cardboard tube etc). I've read wher some actually squirrel proof a room, to allow play time... This is not a problem for Snickers, who regularly runs in the back of our house...but she's easy to find, big bushy tail and all! But these little things, they are so dang tiny!! And after the all night caper a couple weeks back , ugh.. We have spent a few hours in our teenie guest bathroom, reading and allowing them to play daily. But, eventually, do folks just turn them loose in a regular size room ( with every feasible danger covered)?? We really don't have a "plain" extra room ( that doesn't have a bed.. couldn't they get lost up in the underneath guts of a bed? I'm paranoid, I guess after losing first baby) We do have a closet, in our master bedroom, kind of a catch all- it's the slanted type (under our stairs) Starts out tall enough to stand in, then slopes down, has just walls and carpet. Would this be sufficient for them? At least until I trust them ( and myself lol) I suppose they could learn to glide, as long as start high, aim low? These are goofy questions I know; they're just so tiny, and DIFFERENT than the greys, it seems?! Have to earn their trust , so SLOWLY ( the baby greys were cuddle muffins within, 48hrs?) I'm hoping by allowing more room, playtime, they will be happy while overwintering. The only other option, is to convince my oldest DD to allow younger sister to share bedroom lol . Little sis would LOVE to give her room to the squirrels; big Sis? Not there yet.
Also thinking time for a bigger clear tub; is there an age that's considered graduated from tub to cage, for these littles??

I let ace play out all the time. When he decides he is done, he runs back into his cage. If you put a cage in there and kept them all locked up exept for playtime for a couple weeks you could just take out the doors of the cage and give them free rome of the bedroom when they know where to sleep. Idk about the bed, if it is a guest bedroom and nobody sleeps there you could just store the mattress somewhere like a closet or a garage, then they could still play on the bed frame and everything like the boogers they are :). Also, if they're in a room all to themselves add some fun things to play on like curtains and cat trees etc. hope this helps!

Ok! The more I think about it, the master bath room ( connected to our bedroom) is probably the safest . It's fairly large, and shower/toilet area can be closed off). I could add some curtains to the windows, maybe a climbing tree in the tub ( plug drains) I can move Snicker's night cage to our bedroom, and put their future cage in there I guess... No carpet so easier to clean ( but studying potty training discussions- that would be great if can happen!).Thanks for ideas , so much to learn ....
