Found a squirrel that had been hit by a car, I brought it home after I saw a man kick it to the side of the road as it struggled to get out of harms way. The squirrel made it through the night I gave water and some ibuprofen and rice buddies, he's been moving around and breathing seems better today, can someone tell me where I can take Him I called around last night and the one place I found wanted $75 for a visit to check on him... I don't have that kind of money right now, i don't mind driving him to a place where they will offer him care for free and not euthanasia, that was my other concern. Please help.

There is a wonderful place called The Squirrel Refuge in Vancouver Washington. He'd be in some of the very the best of hands if you could get him to them...

Be forewarned, both the Audobon and some wildlife groups in OR. will euthanize even healthy Eastern gray squirrels out of hand for reason that the aen't indigenous. It is illegal to release them in this area. yet some are tolerant of tolerate those practiced caring for them, I know of a rehabber who has a vet also that might be able to help nearby. Let me see if they are willing to take the squirrel, and get back to you.

I know a rehabber in Portland.
I did a mileage calculator and you are 8 miles from her.
I also know of one in Hillsboro ~ 10miles away.
Did you find someone yet to help you?

We just got a call from this person and we will be making arrangements to accept it here. Hopefully it will recover. I have a Spring Momma that has a severe head injury here too, so it will be in good company.
