Very urgent.

7wk old baby that looks like 5.

Quick background: The original caregiver wasn't very receptive to insructions. Going from some formula s/he found online (eggs and stuff), to FV which s/he was given, and whatever else s/he is not telling, one of the babies passed :( .

Now there is one left in a horrible condition:

1. His belly looks large, but isn't hard. It is squishy, like a water-filled rubber glove.
So, since not hard - not bloat?... we think it's huge and squishy because of this really bad diarrhea and the fact that he's undernourished and starved.
So, just to confirm: although his belly is big and round, but squishy, and since it's not hard, he can be fed?... he is literally desperately starving, appetite is fine - he wants to eat and eat and eat, but it's all coming out of him as soon as he eats.

2. He is ravenous, obviously.
Diarrhea - is horrible: as soon as he eats something, it comes out of his bum looking like he is peeing out of his bum - that's how bad it is.

3. Baycox didn't help - means not coccidia. Doesn't have bad smell for giardia.

So, now that the baby is here we are going to try:

1. kaopektate - HOW TO DOSE IT?
2. BRAT diet (banana baby food + baby rice cereal + FV)
3. will give probiotic like Align

WHAT ELSE CAN/SHOULD and SHOULD NOT be done with this horrible diarrhea? (have not dealt with diarrhea THIS bad - it just does not stop and it's not even mushy, just plain pee-like water coming out of him like a pee).

HOW TO DOSE KAOPEKTATE?

We found kaopektate for children (600mg/15ml).

will try to get metro (but it doesnot smell or look like giardia)

unfortunately, we do not have n. sulfate otc here (by prescription only :( )

How much does the baby weigh? I usually just give "a few drops" of Kaopectate.

Antidiarrheals are also given by weight, knowing the weight would really help
to make sure he's getting enough for his system.

My last baby had a large, squishy belly and it was full gas. Consider gas x as well...

Infant Gas-x : As needed

100 grams = 0.2ml

The FV Dia-Stat product can also be very hepful, and gives nourishment as well as firming up the poops. It cannot always cure what is bacterial because it is not an AB, but it will give the body time to rest and take in calories.
