The rule of thumb is 5% - 7% of body weight... so 400gams that would be 20ml - 28ml:
400 X 0.05 = 20
400 X 0.07 = 28

Having said that at 400 grams we usually let them eat formula until they are done... but also at 9 weeks they are typically not only getting block but fresh veggies twice a day. Are you feeding Henry's Healthy Block (which is a supplement and not intended to be their only food) or some other block (almost all of which are intended to be provided in unlimited amounts and require they consume quite a bit each day)?

If you have not already, please review the healthy diet chart (this cannot be posted enough):

Oh you can definitely do veggies now from the healthy food pyramid, as long as they ARE EATING their blocks.
I always have mine on formula, blocks and veggies with an occassional slice of apple or orange.
If that someone is not from the board, don't listen to them. :)
I have never heard of that! :shakehead

I have NEVER heard not to give veggies while they are still on formula, ever.
That's a new one. :thinking
I've heard not to give veggies until they are definitely eating their block,
but I've never heard that giving them formula and veggies will make them sick..
I had a group of 4 at 6 months that still loved their formula. They were eating everything under the sun,
and still taking probably 40 cc's daily.

I agree and I personally say this a lot! Unless it was misunderstood what they were reading
I'd like to know who said such on this board as it would definitely need to be rebutted!
There is way too much misinformation floating around as it is, we don't need it on our pages!

Maybe I misunderstood when she said id have a big mess on my hands but like I was saying I'm only feeding 2x a day and I'm not 100% if they actually eat the blocks so i haven't introduced anything else

Big difference from what I'm reading there then what you interpreted them to have said.
They are correct in trying to explain if you were to give other foods either with or besides block they will pick and choose then you certinally will "have a mess on your hands" as they won't be choosing the block. This is why block first, eating block very well, then you can introduce veggies.

Yeah this is why is still only feeding formula and blocks. I didn't know what they meant by big mess I figured that they were talking about diareaha. I understood the part about being choosie and thus why I have yet to introduce anything im not 100% they are eating blocks well or if all of them are eating them and its not just one
