My 9 week old Non-Relesable Foxer female pokey has had watery yellow feces with stringy blood in it. Her feces has looked like this for the past two days and I'm at a loss. :sadness She is currently eating esbliac 3x a day and rodent block. However today she is refusing her formula and her block. She's always been a picky eater because of her condition but nothing this severe. Please help out if you have any ideas as to what could be going on with my precious little girl!! :Squirrel:Love_Icon

Have you changed the amount she gets or how you are making the formula? What kind of Esbilac, liquid or powder? How much are you feeding and how much does she weigh? Is the block a new thing?

Do you have a vet who could check stool if needed?

Are you giving any meds currently?

You can try the brac diet.

3 tbsp pre mixed formula
1/2 tsp gerber rice cereal
1/2 tsp banana baby food

Feed as you would your regular formula. The plus is that they like the taste.

She eats about 30ml. Per day, It is powdered Esbilac, She's had the block available for about 2 weeks now, I have a vet friend who is willing to help with wildlife but she is unfortunately away for the weekend and into early next week!, And no I am not giving her any medication she hasn't had any medication since she was 5 weeks old.

What is the purpose of the brac diet? I can go out and get ingredients right away if it will help my little girl out!
Thank you!

To add bulk and firm up loose stool. Both banana and cereal do this. I have had great success with it myself.

Any ideas as to what the mucous blood in the stool may be? Or what is causing it?

There are a lot of things that could cause it ranging from diet to bacterial overgrowth to parasite. You will need a vet to check the stool to get a definitive answer. In the mean time you can assist by using the brac diet and give her extra hydration between feedings to avoid dehydration.

Bloody mucus usually indicates an irritation in the bowel/intestines or even an infection. I would try the BRAT diet that cava has suggested it usually helps if the intestinal track has been irritated (i.e.; diarrhea for a few days). I would start there first. If it doesn't improve in a few days then I would consult your Vet friend for help. There are specific antibiotics to use in this case.

BTW, :Welcometo The Squirrel Board !!

Hi there. Did you start it on the 30th when you wrote the original post and if so, how has her stool been since then?

Now that it's Monday, can you call your vet friend or at least submit a stool sample so they can check for parasites or other GI culprits.

Don't force her to take anything else by mouth right now, give her a rest and try a bit of hydration fluid in a couple of hours and see if she holds that down.

What volume did you feed her before she vomited, a large amount?
