Swollen Cheek

Sally Girl is now 5 years old. She has been in good health, but tonight I just noticed a big lump on her neck and cheek on the left side. Any ideas as what to do. In the meantime I will try and post a picture. We have had to trim her teeth for the past few years and wondering if this could be the problem. Its been several months since her last trim.

Can you get a pic posted? Have you checked to make sure it's not a bot fly?
How is she eating? Cracking nuts?
Does she have white tears?
Does the lump feel warmer than the rest of her body?

I don't know how to post a picture. Can I get your cell # and send you one and would you post it for me? It doesn't feel any warmer than the rest of her. Don't see how it could be a bot because she lives inside, but who knows? It has been slowly swelling for the past several days and I just really noticed it tonight. I had been thinking it was fat although she is not a fat squirrel. Possibly a spider??

Thanks for all the great help from all of you out there. It took for ever to read all the replies. I took her to vet the next day which she did magic with Sally. She cut the hair on the abscess or what ever it is, lanced it and got a slug of puss larger than a marble. Then she aspirated it at least a dozen times. She took a probe inserted it into the incision and probed looking for something inside which she didn't find. Then took an xray which was very expensive and all looked good. Then gave her a shot of antibiotics. They loaded me 8 syringes with baytril and told me to come back wed. Looks like most of you were right on with your ideas. Now we wait and pray Sally will pull through this ordeal. Something interesting, we found a dead scorpion in the house today.
