We rescued 3 squirrels when they were just a few weeks old. They've thrived and have been spoiled in the past 4 months. Out of nowhere, two were found dead at the same time in their cage. We have one more that appears normal but I have no idea what could have happened or if I can prevent the last one from dying. We were giving them Henry's blocks, they had water, cage was cleaned every two days and on formula allowing to self wean. My son (14 years) is devastated as he was the one who woke up every 4 hours to feed them over rhebsummer. We are so bonded with them and heart broken. Any thoughts or advice? Thank uou!

This is awful -- I am so sorry! What could they have gotten into? It sounds as if somehow two of the three got into something toxic or poisonous. Were there any signs of distress on or around them? Could they have ingested something like avocado peel or pit....cherry pits.....sago palm seeds...etc?

Please let us know what else they were eating? Were they really eating the Henry's? Or just hiding it ? This sounds nutritional. If it is nutritional we can figure out how to help the sibling that is remaining. Were the babies feed any acorns that were on the ground ?
I know you are devastated. I am so sorry for your loss. :Love_Icon
Rest peacefully little ones. You are loved and will be missed.
