Sounds like this little one has aspiration pneumonia and needs antibotics ASAP. Do you have any Baytril, Cipro, or Clavamox? Only one pill is needed. If not, ask around with family or friends to see if anyone has one. You will also need the weight of the baby in grams in order for us to dose the meds for you. We have many members that live in Florida and we may be able to find someone close to you to help.

Also, what formula are you feeding?

A lot of the hurricane babies are sick. Let's rule out formula as the cause of the diarrhea.

Yes, clicking IS aspiration pneumonia! You need antibiotics immediately. Ask friends if you have none. All we need is one pill.

Also -- try to get to a CVS or pharmacy and ask for a 1cc syringe, no needle. Sounds as if the syringe was too big....

I am going to move your post, and its responses, into its own in the Emergency Forum, instead of here in the video thread. Hang on, little baby, we're trying to help you! :great

I've also cross-posted to Facebook; there are at least two squirrel people in that area that I know of.

I sent this member an email, asking them to come back to the board,
with a link to the new thread.
Hopefully we will hear from them soon.

SO SKRRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO RESPOND!! So far he does not have it. I guess it was just the fluids sticking his nostrils together a little right after eat are. I am using what a wild life personal told me. 1 can of evaporated milk one can water 1 tblspoon of honey. He seems to be doing good. Eating good. I found a woman who lives about 20mins from me and rehabilitates wild animals. I have my hands full with 2 babies 2 foster dogs and 5 of my own dogs. I just want to see this little guy live in the wild and run from tree to tree. And I feel that's what is best for him. Thank you guys so much for all you help. You all are amazing.

So are you taking this baby to the rehabber you located? Because he is not on the correct formula and it should be changed asap. The diarrhea is from the evaporated milk, it is not going to go away as long as he's on it. He needs to be on POWDERED puppy Esbilac formula.

Absolutely positively true -- evap milk and honey is a horrible "formula" for baby squirrels and should NOT be used. This "rehabber" who gave you that information either hasn't done squirrels in the past 25 years or is out of her mind. Please get the baby on the right formula -- babies this young go down quickly!!!
