HELP! I have a six or seven week old squirrel, who possibly has pneumonia. I do not have access to baytril. I only have clindamycin. My vet won't give baytril and I'm afraid he is running out of time. Not eating, very lethargic. What can I do?! I'm brand new here and it won't let me post a new forum. Please tell me there is something I can do for him.

You can post now and I moved your post to it's own thread.
Call family and friends for Cipro (human antibiotic) or Baytril (animal ab)
OR Augmentin or Clavamox.
What makes you think your baby has pneumonia, has he aspirated?
You will need his weight in grams, and the correct antibiotic and we can
dose for you.
All you will need is one pill.
Going off line now, but others will help if you find an antibiotic that will work.

CLINDAMYCIN is a lincosamide antibiotic. It is used to treat certain kinds of bacterial infections.
It will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. ~ It is useless against pneumonia!

Please call around to family, friends and let us know what AB you can come up with.
If this is AP time is critical!

My poor baby is making clicking noises, breathing is slow. He drank too much formula and blew it out of his nose. I'm assuming it is pneumonia. I will call around to see if I can get an abx, but if I can't, is there anything else we can do for him?

No you must get the antibiotics mentioned. Amoxicillin is another antibiotic that could work but the ones posted earlier are the best. Ask your friends to reach out to their friends. Time is of the essence.....

Where are you located, state, town so we can see if we know anyone close by, When did this happen?

What strength amoxicillin do you have? Keep looking for Baytril / Cipro or Clavamox /augmentin

My baby is acting fine now. Breathing is back to normal, he is eating. What could this have been?
