I live in Florida and we just went through Hurricane Irma after the storm I was looking around the yard when I heard this cry I went to see and found a little baby grey squirrel. I looked in the trees close by and saw where a nest had been destroyed by the storm so I think she fell out. I tried for hours to locate momma squirrel but she was no where to be found so I brought her inside made her up a bed area and tried calling all the local vets and the fish and wild life about her the local vets said they don't deal with squirrels and the fish and wild life said they don't take them in I would have to keep her. So I went and purchased puppy formula to feed her read a lot online about caring for baby squirrels. I do not know how much she weighs at this time have to purchase a kitchen scale. She is very active loves to crawl around eats good. She is feed from a bottle with a nipple on the end. I will post pictures of her and her bottles. I give her both her formula and water. She pees a lot and was poppying real good as well till yesterday then her poppying kind of slowed down. She still poppy's but not as much and she has started poppying on her own in her bedding. As I stated she is very active she crawls all over her bedding and all over me and my bed when I am feeding her lol. I read online that you cab tell when they are full when you notice a little white line across their tummy's and she seems to want to eat till that appears then she is done ready to do her business and go back to sleep.

Feed the baby 5-7% of her body weight. So if baby weighs 70 grams
5% = 70x0.05 = 3.5cc every feeding
7% = 70x0.07 = 4.9cc every feeding

Also, please make sure she's on heat and has plenty of fleece to snuggle in.

Having a scale and knowing her weight is also very important if it were to become necessary and she
needed medication. Meds have to be dosed by body weight.

Her bed I made for her it is all fixed up like for a little girl lol.

Her bed has a heating pad and she is kept warm, it has a shirt that she lays on and a shirt that was cut up so she can crawl around in she seems happy.

Nursing bottles are a huge NO!! Extremely dangerous for a squirrel!
You will end up aspirating this baby by using a bottle, one can not control the
flow with a bottle when feeding a squirrel!
Go to the drug store and ask for a 1cc syringe for dosing /nursing a kitten,
do not mention it's for a squirrel!

This baby also needs a heat source provided, a no shut off heating pad set to low and
placed half under her container. They can not thermoregulate their own body temp at
this age.

Thanks i just feed her and used the syringe instead if the bottle and she ate better and seem to have gotten full she also poppyed which she had been doing a little of it was a good one this time your post was a great help

You can order harlan teklad from "Wee Companions" by the pound. It's more reasonable than anyplace I've found. They ship Saturday and I usually get it the following Monday. Order by noon to guarantee it gets shipped. I think Oxbow regal rat is a good food for squirrels. It can be found at most pet stores. My guys hate it.

I mention this because it sounds like you are new to feeding with syringes...
With a baby that young syringe technique is critical !

Do NOT hold it like a pencil (with your pointer finger on the end).
The syringe will occasionally bind up, and then suddenly release, pushing too fast and aspirating the baby.
This can result in pneumonia.

Instead hold it like a pistol, (two fingers on tabs, with butt against your palm), and control it by slowwww-ly closing your fist.
This will give you a better control, and less chance of a sudden squirt.

As the baby gets bigger, it will actually suck the syringe cylinder down without you even pushing it.
Which will probably indicate it's time for a larger syringe :)
(Unless you actually like juggling dozens of them)
