How to litter box train my 5 week old?

Hey! I just rescued my squirrel Chip 5 days ago, and I am looking to train him to do his business in a litter box.

How do I do this? Is 5 weeks old too late to train him this?

Put some carefresh paper litter/bedding in a box and put it in his cage. I usually have to end up using a pan and putting hardware cloth over it to prevent confetti tossing. :shakehead

How would I train Chip to do its business in said box?

Mine just use it. Just like a cat, they seem to know. At 5 weeks I still potty mine. You could put a piece of used tissue in the box for incentive.

I look to see what area they like to use as a their potty, and then I put a small box in that area with paper towels ripped up.
