What formula are you feeding? How often and how much? Squirrels are fed based on their weight. Rule of thumb is 5-7% of their weight per feeding.

If you over feed, cut back for the next couple of feelings and see what happens. You would have to post the type of formula you are using before we can rule that one out.

Im using 1 tablespoon of milk replacer plus for poppies brand PetAg 2 tablespoon of water and 1/2 tablespoon of weeping cream, I mix everything and i feed them with 1cc syringe, 2cc every 3 hours, I don't know how much they weight, and they just open their eyes today. the girl is fine but the boy had 1 diarrhea.

Wrong formula, bad for squirrels, and the reason for the diarrhea!
Pictured below is the formula you need. Hydrate to flush out his
system, Mix as directed 2-1, do not add cream at this point.

Babies eyes normally open at 5 weeks of age, if you are only feeding him 2cc per feeding you are starving him!
Babies are fed between 6-7% of their body weight, having a scale that weighs in grams is not an option, it's essential!
Please post a picture of this baby so we may better access him and help you.

Yes that formula is good.
Start off with a few feedings at a ratio of 1 part Fox Valley to 3 parts water.
Do this for a couple of feedings.
Then go to full strength meaning 1 part formula to 2 parts FV.
Mix the powder with really HOT water to make sure that it all dissolves.

Increase the amount you are giving per feeding GRADUALLY, we don't
want them bloating. There tummies should feel like a balloon after feeding
but NOT hard.
Here's a chart to show how much they should be eating if you
go by the 5-7% "rule of thumb"

Sometimes they won't eat the total every time. Also things like the odor on your hands, if the temperature of the formula isn't right, if the nipple is stinky, if it's time for a fresh batch of formula etc.

If she is healthy and doing well and you tried at 11 and she only wanted 2 ml, let her sleep and begin again in the morning. Don't force her. She may just be full.

You can give them a longer break without feeding overnight. It gives them time to digest as well.

Also, I love that white leg she has!

Rodent block, Rodent block, Rodent block!
The first and only solid they should be eating and eating well before other solids
are introduced is a good quality rodent block!

Good advice on what to give and when to keep them on a healthy diet: https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?31473-Dealing-with-Picky-Eaters

Here's the healthy diet: https://thesquirrelboard.com/forums/showthread.php?44440-Healthy-Diet-for-Pet-Squirrels

You can buy rodent block from the pet store or you can buy Henry's Healthy Blocks. Keep them in the freezer, they are fresh and spoil easily. I used to keep a handful in the fridge and refill as needed. https://www.henryspets.com/hi-protein-blocks/

Do you have that heating pad in the bin with the baby? :nono If so, take it out and put it under only half of the bin. Otherwise you can cook her...literally.

If you move your fingers off the nipple when feeding the babies will be better able to suckle as they would on mom.293276

If that's the regular miracle nipple that's quite long, and once in a great while
I have to do the finger thing to keep it from going down their throat. Then they came out with the mini nipple!
BUT as a rule, if they aren't gagging and taking the nipple fine, there is no need
for your fingers there.
Your babies are absolutely PRECIOUS.:klunk:klunk
Love the white markings on your boy!

cava
09-17-2017, 07:34 PM
They will take it all the way to the back of the tongue. It's easier for them to latch on that way. Don't push it back, let baby suck where he wants it to sit on his/her tongue.

I KNOW it looks huge doesn't it!
Yes if she isn't gagging with it she's fine.
Cava said they get better suction when they put it
all the way in.
If she gags, then put your finger there like you were.
I think she will be fine though.
It's surprising how these little ones can git that in their little mouth,
but they do with no problems.
