Hi,
I currently have a 9-10 week old male squirrel. He is in a big cage by himself. After the hurricane, I rescued a 5-6 week old female squirrel whose mom died. She is doing good and drinking her formula. I have her in a small cage with part of it heated and part not. She is very active. When and how should I put the 2 squirrels together?
Thanks!
I think you'll need to wait until she is much older, her weight, agility and activity level is a match for his and they are on the same diet. I had two that were only two weeks apart and I had to separate them for a while so the little one could get rest and time without her big brother jumping off of her head all day. The little one requires more sleep and he can play too rough with her until she's big enough. After a while my "little" female was kicking her big brother's butt daily. Be patient.

Sometimes it's very difficult if not impossible to have two different groups together,
unless they are eyes closed OR very young.
~ 5 weeks is a big difference.
Be very careful if you do try to group them together down the line.
It's always much easier when they are younger.
