I have about a four or five week old little squirrel hear that fell from the tree during a hurricane. I found it this morning with the other one. It was bleeding from the nose this morning where Lisa dried blood I thought but tonight when I took it out to feed it, it had more blood around his mouth, nose and up to its eyes. I believe it's coming from the nose because when I try and look in his mouth I don't see anything but his two bottom teeth and a little bit of a swollen gum at the top when compared to the other three and it's really weak but it acts hungry and when I try to hydrate it with warm hydration water it pretty much just gets wet instead of getting much down . So what do I do

It might have a slow internal bleed. Wipe the blood so you can see if he's continuing to bleed. Have you offered any formula? Keep him warm and try formula drop by drop. Poor thing. :sadness:sadness

My little Cleo was unresponsive and swallowed little for 2 days... Just keep trying a drop at a time. Sometimes it's very frustrating. They get so tired and hungry that they thwart your best efforts to give them what they need. It takes a lot of time to work with them in that state. Also keep in mind that if their nose is clogged, they'll struggle to swallow properly while trying to breath. Going slowly and continuing to give a bit at a time is key. I'm sure you're doing great! :hugs:

After feeding or trying to feed the other three some formula I went back to the injured one and he had fresh blood around his nose so I'm trying to feed him a little bit more and here's a picture292789
I am dealing with the same thing on my Meet Kevin feed. I just got him two days ago and poor thing can't breathe out of his nose and has bloody discharge that I keep cleaning off. May be go read it and see what you think. There is mention that it could be from a fall or could be a virus/infection from some helpful members.

Thanks Cava. There are so many threads about the hurricane victims it is hard to read them and take care of the 5 I have.

I just wanted everyone to know that the little male that I was worried about did actually pass in the night. I feel so awful that he passed, and I couldn't do anything, but he fell I guess along way down during the storm. He may have actually even been stepped on, because when I found him he was under a bunch of leaves and debris, which was in the direct path of where people were doing cleanup so.... but the other four are doing well. Of the people in Lakeland, 90% are out of power, but I think God I am not one of those 90%. :w00t
