I'm in the metro Atlanta area, which is expected to see Irma as a tropical storm tomorrow. My house is surrounded by trees, the largest of which contains at least three recently-built dreys. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are babies in at least one. I've had several females around recently that appear to be either pregnant or nursing. Even before the actual storm has hit those tree branches are being flung around like crazy, so I'm really concerned about any babies up there. I'm about to make one more run to the store, so is there anything I should have on hand just in case any little ones end up needing help? Thanks!

Yes, the 1st thing that needs to be done is have a non-turnoff electric heating pad. Steralite containers are good to use to put the baby's in covered in fleece or t shirt material with half a dozen 1/2 " holes drilled in the top. See if you can get 1 cc and 3 cc syringes. Depending on age of baby, esbilac puppy formula is fed. It is very important to have a scale that weighs in grams.
so it is 1. Warm the baby
2. Hydrate the baby
3. Feed
we'll give more info if you get any babies

I'm not a rehabber, but I suspect that batteries and a stock pile of clean water and maybe some extra food will be good. If internet remains available, keep us posted.

Thanks for your response! I have a steralite bin and plenty of fleece. I picked up some pedialyte and 3cc syringes, but I couldn't find any 1cc syringes. I just checked my heating pad and it isn't working, so I'll head back out and try to get another one this evening. Hopefully the babies will be okay, but I want to be prepared to help them just in case! :)
