I have recently released a female squirrel after rehabbing her. Since being released she has starting attacking and biting myself and my wife. She has interacted with a neighbor with no attack. Any ideas what we should do?
Thanks

Dave

How old is the squirrel? Did you do a soft release or just put her out? Sounds like she's upset with you, probably for not feeding her. Try bring some food out with you and putting it down for her. She may be franticly looking for food and when you don't have any she gets crazy.

I had a release do exactly what Peaches described. If I didn't have food for him when I went outside he would jump me and bite and attack me. I was able to relocate my squirrel to where there were no children and very few houses.

she is one year old I did soft released her . the reason I let her go was she started biting me and drew blood. I do feed her . she did this a month ago and I put back in cage and then let her out after a week and she was good for a month. She is back in her cage now

It could just be she's in heat. Some of the girls get really really nasty during mating season.

Yes they have sept, oct babies. You usually don't see them in colder climates because they are nested in buildings not tree's.

well I opened her cage to let her out and she sat there for a half and hour so went to the and called her to come and she did. a couple days went by and I saw here out front and I approached her and she jumped on me and didn't bite:serene
