Does anyone have any ideas on keeping our released squirrels safe during this monster storm thats coming? She has a nest in a large tree out back and I still have her cage filled with goodies by the house but she doesn't ususally retreat to it when it rains.

I am crazy sick worried about her :panic:help:raining

Have faith in how well squirrels have evolved to fit their environments; she will know what to do and, unlike the true wildies out there, she knows there is a human she can come to if worst come to worst. I was petrified when Hurricane Sandy hit NY because I had just released about 8 of my kids and 10-12 of other peoples'.....I was sure they'd all die or be mortally injured but....a day or so after the storm was gone, they all showed up for nuts! :rotfl

Oh That's great to hear they returned . I sure hope she will do the same. I just love that girl !

I'm on the east coast of a Florida and I intend to bring inside one of my boys that I released a year ago. He's still super friendly and I will feel better with him inside where I know he's safe. Last year when Hurricane Matthew rolled through my boys had only been released for a few weeks. I brought them both in and they did just fine. :)
