I have an adult squirrel that someone brought to a vet clinic I work at.
I don't know much of the story other than when I arrived to pick up two "baby" squirrels, I was told that they had been in a tree that was cut down. When I looked at them they were clearly young adults and definetly off of milk. One was half skinned and had guts falling out so I had the vet put that one to sleep.
The other has no external injuries, so I brought it to my house, put it in my aviary that has a squirrel nesting box in it and placed the squirrel in the box with some bedding. I gave it some treats in the box in hopes it would eat, but that was at 3:30 pm yesterday afternoon.
Like I said, this is an adult squirrel and all it wants to do is stay curled up and sleep and it didn't put up any fight when I handled it to bring it home and put it in the box.
This morning I tried to squirt some Lactated Ringer solution in its mouth with a syringe, but it just stayed curled up watching me and didn't fight or swallow.

Any ideas as to what I can do different?
Should I try to force it to drink some fluids?

Well obviously there is something wrong with this little one.
I think you need to take him out and really look him over good.
Check for broken bones, check the teeth, check wherever you can.
He is going to need hydration, and if he isn't taking it on his own,
you will either need to sub q him, or get him to drink from a bowl or syringe.
Perhaps try syringe feeding/hydrating him a little at a time, until he swollows.
instead of squirting it.

I would bring him and put him in a cage that is relatively small. You need to be able to get him if needing to dose meds and he does not be to be able to do a lot of moving around or climbing. Of course cover this cage and put him in a quiet room. He does need fluids to start. I would put him on a pain/antiinflamatory med like meloxicam.
