Hello squirrel lovers!!! I had a few questions about feeding my 10 week old boy. Recently he has developed a deep love for kaytee blocks... eating 4-5 a day! I'm still giving him 15-16 ML of milk 3 times a day. He is also getting a mix of greens including kale and romaine but he doesn't seem to eat a lot of it quite yet, he'd rather have the blocks and milk.

Is he eating enough? Should he be getting more milk? Sometimes I feel like he is only eating the blocks because he's really hungry lol... When he finishes his milk he still acts like he is starving!

Any advice on his diet is welcome :) He loves chewing his sticks as well. P.s. If you were following my older posts about the diarrhea, the metronidazole seems to have cleared it all up! It's his 2nd day being finished with the medicine and solid poops are still here! Never thought I'd be so exited about poop. :grin2

You're doing great. Lucky you that he eats his blocks and is still taking formula; this is your best defense against MBD and other developmental problems. The latest expert opinion on squirrel diet is that 75% of it should be rodent block after weaning, so your boy is on the right track. Don't worry about the veggies until he really starts to give up formula; at that point you'll want to make sure he eats the really good ones: dark green leafies like kale, chickory, escarole, dandelions. That plus lots of rodent block available all the time and you will have one healthy squirrel. :great

You may want to try offering Henry's Healthy Blocks Growth Formula too -- www.henryspets.com (http://www.henryspets.com). Two per day ensure that he gets all the calcium, vitamins and minerals he needs regardless of what else he eats.

Oooops -- sorreeee for my rudeness, :Welcome:Welcome:Welcome to The Squirrel Board!
