It is a good antibiotic and covers a lot including some bacteria found in the mouth/gums.

Always a good choice and down the line if need be you could stack with Clindamycin.
Kiss that widdle nose for me.:blowkiss

Lord, this girl has been quite an experience! She not only had a squashed face. But had a claw/talon that was embedded in the roof of her mouth, make a surprise appearance a week after she arrived.
While clearing gunk out of her mouth, I pulled this out!:eek
Just to be clear, it is not a cat claw.

I agree both with the Clavamox and stacking if necessary, my vet uses Clavamox
for a lot of nose and face issues.

How did this little one even survive that attack?
Amazing, just amazing.
You already had her on Clavamox, correct?

Not sure what that claw thing is, it looks more like a tooth to me? I guess all her teeth look fine?

Not a tooth. Hollow on broad end. Looking lik e a young fisher claw is most likely.

Long overdue update here and it isn't a good one. As it turns out, on our third trip to the vet, it was not a claw and was her tooth. It was hollow because it was dead and so was the bone in her jaw. She had a cleft palate and it wasn't visible until the swelling behind her top teeth had gone down. The tooth was so extremely long because it was the entire tooth including the root.
My sweet Luna had to be allowed to go Home when we discovered the severity of her mouth issues. This was one of the hardest I've had in a long time. She wasn't here long, but she was a big part of my day for weeks.
It took me quite a while to update here and it still feels quite raw.
Godspeed my precious Luna... :Love_Icon :Love_Icon :Love_Icon

I have a soft spot for these babies with mouth issues because of Sammy. They always put a pit in my stomach when I read about them. I know how hard this must have been for you. I pray that she will send you a sign that she's okay and maybe one day you will see her in another's eyes.
