Hi I'm concerned for our 8-9 week old grey squirrel male. His female sibling has been sucking and biting his genitals. I'm thinking I will need to separate them now, ive tried giving them more feedings and give them plenty of broccoli and blocks but she wont leave him alone. I'm concerned that it may become infected. He had a small amount of blood on it today I washed it off with saltwater. I tried triple antibiotic but he licked it off. Any advice? Does he need to have oral antibiotics or can I just keep washing him with saltwater? Does the type of salt I use matter? Should I keep putting antibiotic on it if he is licking it off?

You should definitely separate them. Make sure there is no scab on the end of his penis. If there is, use warm water to soak it off. You need to be sure he can pee.
You can try rubbing some coconut oil on his penis. It will keep it moist and won't harm him if he licks it.

Okay. There isn't a scab on it yet. However their other sibling died a week and a half ago and had a similar wound with a scab on it when I found him. Its so hard to tell if he is pee ing at this point in age bc they go on their own now. I will keep checking on him to make sure he isnt bloated looking. I am using kosher salt with water is this okay for soaking him? He usually licks it afterward. Thank you for your reply

Yes, this can be life threatening. I would separate them BUT you also need to make sure he isn't doing it himself. They will self suckle. Feel the bladder. If it feels hard you need to unblock the opening.
The salt water might help to soften any scabs. The scabs can also be internal. Make sure you lubricate it with something.

Try stimulating him to see if he will pee.
