Hello
When Lucy out roaming the house tonight, Lucy got a few licks off top of comet with bleach container before I got to her. She not showing any signs of a problem; however, I know squirrel hide their pain. No vet available where I lived--so are there something I can do or give her.
Lucy is three years old grey squirrel.
I'm not usually that careless but our kitchen sink stopped up and comet was set out next to cabinet and not placed back and she got into before I knew it
Anyway, any help appreciated.
Again, a few licks but still I'm concern.

Doubtful she ingested any amount to cause real harm but hydrating to flush through is always a good idea.

Georgiajanice, you are going to think I am CRAZY but bear with me for a moment. When I read this I thought, what on earth would make a squirrel go for the Comet container? So I looked up the ingredients in Comet. Guess what?

Comet is 60-100% Calcium Carbonate.

Your girl may be trying to tell you something -- she is needing more calcium in her diet. Her body is telling her that the white powder is something she needs -- unfortunately the bleach added makes it very dangerous. What is her normal diet like? You may really want to make sure that she is getting the calcium she needs, to avoid MBD.

Don't think I'm crazy.....well, yeah I probably am. :grin2

Here's a wonderful chart to help you make sure her diet is right on target:

Just thought I'd mention that I use to buy Buddy antlers from Petco to chew on. I think they are full of calcium. She loved them!

EDIT: There was a recommendation on here a while back to boil antlers for 2 hours to get rid of any bacteria. I did so and then let them dry for a couple days before giving them to Buddy.
