Hello fellow squirrel peeps!
I have an 7 month old male Eastern Grey. My vet is willing to neuter him when he's closer to 1yr. I thought I had seen something posted on one of the threads about anesthesia protocols, but I have not been able to find it again. Would someone be able to share it with me please? Thanks for the help. Mutt would thank you too, but I think he's not going to be as pleased when his "training wheels" come off.

Is your vet an exotic animal vet? I had to take one of my rescues in to my exotic animal vet and just out of curiosity asked if squirrels can even be neutered or spayed. She said yes, but they personally will only neuter around 5 months of age (no older but a bit younger), or when the testes have first dropped for a male squirrel. I would maybe get a 2nd opinion if you are still considering neutering.
I am sure you have researched and weighed the pros vs cons? It is very hard on a squirrel to have to endure that. Not judging your decision because I have seen the pros of the procedure but please make sure you understand that the cons are many, including death. Good luck to your sweet boy what ever you decide.
